The word SPA comes from the Latin phrase, "Sanus per Aquam," or "health through water". A Spa is place to go when you want to get away from your normal life routine and experience an environment and treatments that will help your body and mind to undwind and feel revitalized. Modern SPAs (like one which exists in Dallas, Los Angeles, New York, Philadelphia or Boston) have their roots in ancient towns famed for the healing powers of their mineral waters and hot springs. Travelers would come to "take the waters" and restore their health.
